2 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
5 GrannySmithh apples
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 a lemon
1 cup of sugar
2 Tablespoons flour
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 egg
1 Tablespoon melted butter
2 teaspoons sugar
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
In a saucepan over medium heat, add sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar; cook until butter is melted and sugars are dissolved, stirring occasionally. Peel the core and thinly slice apples, put them into a bowl, and add lemon juice to prevent browning. Roll out the first pie crust into the pan. Then place apples into the pan. Pour the sugar mixture over the apples, and then add the second crust. Score middle. In a small bowl, mix butter, sugar, and egg; lightly brush the mixture over the pie. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until golden brown.
